Why Am I Not Receiving TickTalk Notifications on Android?
If you're not receiving TickTalk notifications on your Android device, try the troubleshooting steps below.
1. Verify Notification Permissions
Go to:
Settings > Apps > TickTalk > Notifications
Make sure all notification types are enabled.
Depending on your device, you may also find this under:
Settings > Notifications > TickTalk
2. Disable Battery Optimization
Many Android devices automatically restrict background apps to save battery life, which can prevent notifications from being delivered.
Go to:
Settings > Apps > TickTalk > Battery
and select:
Unrestricted or Don't Optimize
(Options may vary by device manufacturer.)
3. Allow Auto Start or Background Activity
Some Android devices require apps to be allowed to run in the background.
Check:
Settings > Apps > TickTalk > Battery
or
Settings > Battery > Background Usage Limits
and make sure TickTalk is allowed to run in the background.
Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, and other Android devices may use different names for these settings.
4. Do Not Force Close the TickTalk App
Avoid swiping the TickTalk App away from Recent Apps.
Force closing the app may prevent notifications from being delivered until the app is opened again.
5. Check Your Internet Connection
Make sure your phone has an active:
- Wi-Fi connection, or
- Cellular data connection
Poor connectivity may delay or prevent notifications.
6. Update the TickTalk App
Using an outdated version of the app may affect notification delivery.
Install the latest version from the Google Play Store.
7. Log Out and Log Back In
If notifications suddenly stop working:
- Open the TickTalk App.
- Log out of your account.
- Log back in.
- Test notifications again.
