How Do I Add Approved Contacts to TickTalk 5?
TickTalk 5 allows parents to control exactly who their child can communicate with.
You can add up to 53 approved contacts to your child's watch.
Approved contacts may include:
- Parents
- Guardians
- Grandparents
- Relatives
- Family friends
- Teachers or school contacts
- Other trusted adults
Types of Contacts
TickTalk supports three types of contacts:
Phone Book Contacts
Phone Book Contacts can receive and place regular voice calls with the watch.
These contacts do not need to download the TickTalk App.
Examples include:
- Grandparents
- Relatives
- School offices
- Landlines
- Trusted family friends
App Users
App Users communicate through the TickTalk App using:
- Voice Calling
- FaceTalk Video Calling
- Messaging
- Greeting Cards
App Users must download the TickTalk App and receive approval from the Administrator.

Watch Friends
Watch Friends are other TickTalk watch users who can communicate directly with your child's watch.

How to Add a Phone Book Contact
- Open the TickTalk App.
- Go to Parent Portal > Contacts.
- Select Add Contact.
- Enter the contact's name and phone number.
- Tap Save.
Once the watch is online, the contact will automatically sync to the watch.
Important: The watch must be online using either an active cellular connection or Wi-Fi to receive contact updates.
How can my child call me without having a phone?
Add your number as a Phone Book contact in the TickTalk App (you don’t need the TickTalk App for this contact type).
- Then, once the watch is online, your contact syncs to the watch.
- From the watch, your child can place two-way voice calls to approved Phone Book contacts (including mobile phones and landlines).
