How Do I Set Up a Watch Password on TickTalk 5?
You can set a 4-digit password to help protect your child's watch if it is lost, misplaced, or accessed by someone else.
Before You Begin
The watch must be online before a password can be created or updated.
The watch can be online using:
- An active cellular connection
- A Wi-Fi connection
You can verify the watch is online by checking the TickTalk App.
How to Set a Watch Password
- Open the TickTalk App.
- Go to Parent Portal.
- Select Watch Password.
- Enter a 4-digit password.
- Tap Done to save.
The watch will receive the new password once it is online.
What Happens After a Password Is Set?
Once enabled:
- Your child must enter the 4-digit password to access the watch.
- The password helps protect personal information stored on the watch.
- The password remains active until it is changed or removed.
Why Isn't My Password Updating?
If the password does not appear on the watch:
- Confirm the watch is online.
- Connect the watch to Wi-Fi if cellular service is unavailable.
- Wait a few minutes for the update to sync.
- Restart the watch and try again.
What Happens If the Wrong Password Is Entered Multiple Times?
For security purposes, the watch will automatically lock if the wrong password is entered 5 times.
When this happens:
- The watch cannot be accessed until it is unlocked by an Administrator.
- An Administrator must use the TickTalk App to remove or reset the watch password.
To unlock the watch:
- Open the TickTalk App.
- Go to Parent Portal > Watch Password.
- Either:
- Select Delete Password to remove the password entirely, or
- Enter and save a new 4-digit password.
Once the change syncs to the watch, the watch will be unlocked and available for use again.
Important: The watch must be online (cellular or Wi-Fi) to receive the updated password or unlock command.
Important Note
If your watch is lost or stolen, we recommend setting a watch password as soon as possible and contacting TickTalk Support for additional assistance.
