How Does 911 Calling Work on TickTalk 5?
TickTalk 5 includes a direct 911 calling feature for emergency situations.
When enabled, children can quickly contact local emergency services if immediate police, fire, or medical assistance is needed.
How Do I Call 911 from the Watch?
To place a 911 call:
- Press the black side button once.
- Press the red SOS button twice.
The watch will automatically call 911.
How Do I Disable 911 Calling?
Parents can choose whether to allow 911 access.
To disable 911 Calling:
- Open the TickTalk App.
- Go to Parent Portal.
- Select Enable Watch Features.
- Turn off 911 Response.
When disabled, the watch will not be able to place 911 calls.
Some families choose to disable this feature for younger children to help prevent accidental emergency calls.
Will Parents Be Notified When 911 Is Called?
Yes.
When a 911 call is placed, parents receive a notification through the TickTalk App.
The app may also provide location information to help parents understand where the emergency call originated.
What Is the Difference Between Emergency SOS and 911 Calling?
These are two separate safety features.
Emergency SOS
- Calls a parent, guardian, or designated emergency contact.
- Activated by pressing and holding the red SOS button.
- If the SOS contact does not answer, the watch calls the first two Shortcut Dial contacts.
911 Calling
- Connects directly to local emergency services.
- Intended for police, fire, or medical emergencies.
- Can be enabled or disabled by the Administrator.
Important Note
Children should only use 911 for real emergencies.
